The Camping World Truck Series was formed as an idea in 1991. Four drivers were concerned about the futures of desert racing. They decided to create pavemen truck racing series. They built the truck and they tested it in the Daytona 500 of 1994. The trucks proved to be really popular and led to the creation of the Craftsman Truck Series. In 2008, it waas changed to the name of Camping World Truck Series.
